The fourth edition of NID Platform and the selected companies were presented in Rome on Wednesday, the 14th of June, at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MiBACT) in the presence of Minister Dario Franceschini, the Director General of the performing arts sector at MiBACT Onofrio Cutaia, the Cultural Councilor of the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia  Gianni Torrenti, the mayor of Gorizia Ettore Romoli, the vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce Venezia Giulia Gianluca Madriz, the president of the Cassa di Risparmio di Gorizia Foundation Roberta Demartin and the director of a.Artisti Associati Walter Mramor.

An international artistic commission formed by John Ashford (England, director of Aerowaves European Network), Natalia Casorati (Italy, artistic director of Interplay Festival in Turin), Giacomo Cirella (Italy, Secretary General of the Teatro Comunale Città di Vicenza Foundation), Angela Fumarola (artistic co-director of Armunia Festival Costa degli Etruschi in Castiglioncello – Livorno), Natalia Simo Alvarez (Spain, director of Teatros del Canal and Canal Dance Center in Madrid), Gordana Vnuk (Croatia, founder and artistic director of Eurokaz Festival in Zagreb) selected the 16 best proposals which make up the main programme of NID Platform.

The programme will be complemented by a host show, chosen among the most representative of the Italian scene: the new production of Aterballetto, co-signed by Cristina Morganti (a long-time dancer for Pina Bausch) and Hofesh Shechter, which will be debuting as a national premiere at NID Platform 2017. The Festival includes four days of performances, with over 17 shows – each of them staged at a different time. The several proposals include, for the first time, two performances specifically intended for children and young boys and girls.

The shows will be hosted in three thatres of Gorizia: Teatro Comunale Giuseppe Verdi, Kulturni Dom and Kulturni Center Lojze Bratuž. The Festival will also cross the border and reach Slovenia, thank to the cooperation with Nova Gorica National Theater, which will host some of the events. The Santa Chiara Museum Complex will serve as an infopoint and as a venue for roundtables and meetings among artists and professionals.

The 16 shows selected by the artistic commission for the fourth edition (Compagnia Aldes, Opus Ballet, Compagnia Kinkaleri/Le Supplici, Compagnia Van – with two shows – Compagnia MM Contemporary Dance Company, Compagnia Artemis Danza, Compagnia Codeduomo, Balletto di Roma, Compagnia Collettivo Cinetico, Compagnia Simona Bucci, Compagnia Cab 008, TIR Danza, Compagnia Zebra and Compagnia Spellbound) also include the Friulian company  Arearea with the show “Le Quattro Stagioni_from summer to autumn” by Marta Bevilacqua and Roberto Cocconi with Angelica Margherita, Anna Savanelli, Valentina Saggin, Marta Bevilacqua, Luisa Amprimo, Luca Campanella, Roberto Cocconi, Andrea Rizzo, Daniele Palmeri, Luca Zampar.
