Christophe Galent – Les Halles de Schaerbeek

Over the past thirty years, Christophe Galent has worked in every aspect of organizing performing arts in France: a Municipal Theater, a Creativity Center, and a National Stage. As General Secretary of Le Volcan, one of France’s leading theaters, he played a key role in the national but especially international development of the OFF Festival in Avignone at the same time, organizing its General Estates consultations and bearing responsibility for the programming and animation of all its related public discussions for 7 years. As a freelance consultant, he has worked for organizations operating outside the world of performing arts and published or served as joint editor for various collective works (L’art en difficultés, Cassandre / Horchamps; Produire la création, with Cantarella, Comolli, Fisbasch, Françon, Jourdheuil, Lagarde, Milin, Mondzain, Tsaï ….), and as joint-editor of  Culture (s): Forze e sfide del XXI secolo. A member of the Panel of Experts in France and Belgium, a correlator at the workshop entitled “Artists and their works: otherness as requisite for creativity” for the international conference on the dialogue of cultures and religions (OIF / ISESCO – Fez 2018), for the last six years he has been directing Les Halles de Schaerbeek, a symbol of the city of Brussels, developing its productive capacity with the scheduling of over 130 tour dates in 2018 alone. A member of the MASA International Arts Committee, he is deeply involved with the OFF Festival, the OIF, and in supporting technical training in Africa. Les Halles also works with numerous young artists through various atypical projects, among which the «L’assemblée d’avril», that gathers 60 students from arts high schools all over Europe and Africa every year and group residency projects in different nations, in constant pursuit of renewal of the forms and conditions of cultural creation beyond disciplinary borders and also a strictly artistic context.

 
Daniele Sepe – Amat

Vice-Director of AMAT (Associazione Marchigiana Attività Teatrali), the Marche Region’s Interdisciplinary Circuit of Theater, Dance, Music, and Contemporary Circus. He has been working for the Association since 2005 after first graduating in Art and Culture Modern Languages from the “Carlo Bo” University of Urbino with a thesis on the History of Theater and Performance entitled “The Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative”, a creative collaboration program with the participation of emerging artists and established masters in the performing and visual arts. At AMAT he is primarily involved in programming, with particular regard to dance activities as the organizing manager of the Civitanova Dance Festival and coordinator of actions in support of creativity that include residencies and promotional activities for the theater season. He has been a member of the Anticorpi XL network Promotor Committee since 2007. He participates in the ideation and management of international and interdisciplinary projects approved in the context of European Union Programs such as “Transparent Boundaries” (2007-13 Cultural Program), “Sparse” (Creative Europe), “Bando à parte” (Youth in Action), and “Craft” (Erasmus+).

 
Gerarda Ventura – Anghiari Dance Hub

Gerarda Ventura, Artistic Director at Anghiari Dance Hub, has danced at Bologna’s Teatro Comunale and the Verona Arena, and primarily as a member of the Vittorio Biagi Company. After attending the first course in Live Performance Management at LUISS University of Rome in 1991, she began working as an organizer and administrator for dance companies such as Enzo Cosimi, Adriana Borriello, and Paola Rampone, and for theater companies such as  Giorgio Barberio Corsetti. She started working with Fondazione Romaeuropa in 1995, assuming the guidance of Dance Promotion Agency, for which she curated the three editions of the Italian Contemporary Dance Platform. In 1999, she served as Production Manager for the show “Parabola” by Carolyn Carson at the Venice Biennial. From 1999 to 2001 she was responsible for the organization of the Corps de Ballet at the Teatro alla Scala in Milano, and since 2008 she has provided consultancy in the programming of the Umbria Region Dance Circuit for the Teatro Stabile dell’Umbria. From 2010 to 2015, she coordinated the Premio Equilibri for contemporary Italian dance organized by Fondazione Musica per Roma under the artistic direction of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. A founder of the Danse Bassin Méditerranée DBM international network, she develops dance projects in partnership with artists and structures in the Arab world. She is a former member of the Toscana Region Commissions for funding awarding. In 2015, she published an article entitled “Danza, questa sconosciuta” in the Fondazione Symbola report entitled “I am Culture”, and in Economia della Cultura magazine Issue No. 1, 2016, she published the article “La danza contemporanea nel Mediterraneo oggi”.

 

Lanfranco Cis–  Oriente Occidente Festival

Lanfranco Cis founded the Oriente Occidente Festival in 1981 and has been its artistic co-director ever since. From 2005 to 2014, he supervised the “Futuro Presente. Laboratorio Permanente sui linguaggi contemporanei/Future Present. Permanent Contemporary Language Workshop” Project that hosted an important retrospective dedicated entirely to Merce Cunningham in 2005 and an edition entitled “Le visioni del corpo. Pippo Del Bono tra cinema, teatro e danza/Visions of the Body. Pippo Del Bono in Cinema, Theater, and Dance” in 2012. He currently directs the Centro Internazionale della Danza (CID), with responsibilities ranging from the development of young dancers to the management of the companies’ residence programs and the advancement of dance knowledge and theory, with the intention of establishing a landmark for the growth of dance culture in Italy and a hub of European exchange. In 1997, ha was the Italian Dance Festivals spokesman at the respective “General Meeting” held at Piccolo Eliseo di Roma before Vice-Premier Walter Veltroni. From 1998 to 2000, he was part of the Work Group for the Book Series entitled “Documents from the Rovereto MART Museum”. He is the artistic director of cultural projects for the Autonomous Province of Trento and other public administrations; particularly worthy of note was his organization of the “Sentinelle di Pietra/Stone Sentinels” performances held at fortresses built during the First World War and of the “Se in Trentino d’estate un castello/If on a Midsummer’s Night in a Castle in Trentino…” Festival . He was selected as expert for the recruiting and screening of teachers at the Trento Dance High School. A member of the Repérages-Danse – Rencontres internationales de la jeune chorégraphie organization group in Lille, France, for 5 years, he was also the Bolzano Dance Festival’s Art Director from 1994 to 2004. He served as art consultant at the Santa Chiara Cultural Services Center in Trento and Bolzano and at the Trentino Alto Adige Region’s Dance Circuit for the programming of the dance performance season from 1995 to 2018.

 

Li Ming – Vice President of the “Center for China Shanghai International Arts Festival”

Li Ming, Vice President of the “Center for China Shanghai International Arts Festival”, is in charge of Performance & Exhibition, Resources Development, Ticket Office, and Rising Artists’ Work, and also Shanghai Cultural Exchange Company LTD. He has long been involved in local and international performance, creating and developing repertoire, distribution, touring, and organizing cultural events. General Manager of City Dance Company Limited Shanghai from 2004 to 2009. Chief Operating Officer of Shanghai City Performing Arts Company Limited from 2009 to 2012, while also organizing prestigious performances such as Swan Lake (an original acrobatic ballet interpretation of the classic piece), Farewell to My Concubine A dream of Red Mansions, the original symphonic work entitled Shanghai image, and the Sea Dream of Nutcracker show. During World Expo 2010, the Company was chosen to organize nearly 500 cultural/theatrical events. Since 2004 he has been involved in the China Dance Lotus Award Competition, the National Theatre of China Shanghai drama week, the China Shanghai International Ballet Competition, and the Music Collection in China’s Shanghai World Expo, to mention but a few. He has achieved remarkable results in the sectors of drama, dance, and acrobatics in various nations around the world, playing an active role in hundreds of performances. Vice president of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival Center since 2012, Li Ming is responsible for the Arts Festival Development Center, the Ministry of Resources Development Ticketing Department, the Young Artists Plan, and various projects in promotion of international exchange and the development of performing arts projects.

 
Steriani Tsintziloni –Athens & Epidaurus Festival

Steriani Tsintziloni is a researcher and scholar in Dance History who has been programming dance activities for the Athens & Epidaurus Festival since 2016. A graduate of the Greek State School of Dance and the Department of Education at the University of Crete, she received an MA in Dance Studies from the University of Surrey with a grant from the Onassis Foundation and holds a PhD in Dance Research from the University of Roehampton. She was a Research and Programming Associate for the Kalamata International Dance Festival (1998 – 20014) and a collaborator in art and educational projects for the Isadora & Raymond Duncan Research Dance Centre (Athens), Greek National Opera, European Dancehouse Network (EDN), Danse Basin Mediterane (DBM), and the Goulandri Museum of Cycladic Art. Past member of the Greek National Centre for Theatre and Dance Commission for dance funding awarding and co-curator of Performance Studies International Regional Research Cluster (2011) and the EDN Meeting (2015), both of which were held in Athens. Her research monograph curated together with Dr. Stacey Prickett (University of Roehampton) entitled “Dancing National Ideologies: Athens Festival and the Cold War” was supported by a British Academy/Leverhulme small research grant award.

Paolo Brancalion – Dance Project Manager and a tutor at L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora | La Corte Ospitale, The Residence Center (Italy)

 
Paolo Brancalion is the Dance Project Manager and a tutor at L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora | La Corte Ospitale,: The Emilia-Romagna Residence Center. Since 2015, he has coordinated the ResiDanceXL places and residencies for choreographic creations Project for the Rete Anticorpi XL network. From  2001 to 2005, he thelped oirganize the oInternational Santarcangelo Theater Festival. From 2002 to 2003, he served as a fRiccione Theater staff member in organizing the 16th TTV-Performing Arts on Screen Festival and the Riccione Theater Prize, and as manager for the ACT! Contemporary Theater Archives.
L.He has taken part in creating various dance networks and projects: Anticorpi – Rete di Festival, Rassegne e Residenze Creative dell’Emilia Romagna, where he also sits on the Board of Directors; DNAppunti Coreografici, a support project for yyoung Italian choreographers, and E BAL’ – Palcoscenici romagnoli per la danza contemporanea. He is also a tutor and teacher for the Nuove Traiettorie XL action, a Rete Anticorpi XL training project.

 

Mara Serina – Art director CLOSE-UP Festival Crema (Italy)

Mara Serina attended classical studies at Milano Catholic University and graduated with honors in Italian Modern Literature before working at Brescia Catholic University as assistant to professors of Dramaturgy and History of Theater. A journalist/publicist since 1995, she has taught Master Degree Communication Courses at Brescia Catholic University and the Emilia Romagna Region Advanced Training Institute. Since 2017, she has been a project manager at CLAPS Circuit with support from the Ministry of Culture for the distribution of live performances on Lombardia. Since 2018, she has been directing a new art project, the international CloseUP festival of modern circus, dance, and video based in Crema. Since 2017, she has directed the Masterclass Internazionale Scena Europa Project and its European teachers who train young Italian artists and organizers to work in the European live entertainment market. Since 2014, she has taught Communication at Hystrio Magazine training seminars, at “Per un Teatro d’Impresa Master Degree courses held at Rome’s Teatro dell’Orologio, Milano Dance Haus Dance Meetings, and the international Korespondance Festival in the Czech Republic. Since 2014, she has been the co-Art Director at Forlì’s Ipercorp Festival where she manages the “Italian Performance Platform”, and international project for the promotion of Italian companies abroad. From 2008 to 2017, she served as the Art Consultant at Fondazione Teatro Piemonte Europa in Torino and for the International Teatro a Corte Festival. In 1999, she co-founded Iagostudio Communication Agency in Milano specialized in conceiving, organizing, and communicating cultural events, working with the nationally renowned Santarcangelo Festival, Piccolo Teatro, Teatro degli Arcimboldi, and the Teatro a Corte Festival.
